We are unabashed composting nerds.
One of the reasons we started this company was to promote the use of 100% compostable packaging.
We are extremely proud that all of our packaging will break down to organic matter within 180 days of reaching the compost pile or landfill.
Without sounding too cliche we strongly believe that we have an obligation and responsibility to improve lives. Our existence must have a long term positive effect. In our case we do that through providing food and beverage products with high quality ingredients in sustainable packaging with clear ingredient labeling.
What is Composting?
Composting is the process of breaking down organic waste by microbial digestion to create compost.
Compost has many beneficial uses including improving and fertilizing soil.
To go through a composting process, organic waste requires the right level of heat, water, and oxygen.
In a pile of organic waste, there are millions of tiny microbes that consume the waste, transforming the organic materials into compost.
In order to claim that a product is fully compostable, the product has to meet all the requirements in the European Norm EN 13432 and/or the US Standard ASTM D6400.
Both specifications require that biodegradable/compostable products completely decompose in a composting setting in a specific time frame, leaving no harmful residues behind.
Materials used to produce our packaging comply with ASTM D6400 and EN13432.
Our stand-up pouches and sugarcane blank labels can be composted like any other organic waste.
Switching to compostable packaging can have a massive impact.
